Allen County Regional Hospital will rename one of its delivery rooms in the hospital’s obstetrics unit after Monarch Cement Company, in recognition of Monarch’s $50,000 donation to the hospital. A plaque, inscribed with “Investing in the health of Allen County’s newest citizens — The Monarch Cement Company,” will soon be placed outside of room 201. On hand for the ceremony were, from left, Candace McRae, the hospital’s public relations manager, former hospital trustee Karen Gilpin, Mary Kay Heard and Mary Ann Arnott, who have been instrumental in fund-raising endeavors for the hospital, former trustee Jay Kretzmeier, ACRH Chief Executive Officer Tony Thompson, Walter Wulf Jr., former president and current Monarch Board of Trustees chairman, Debbie Roe, Monarch’s chief financial officer, and Kent Webber, Monarch company president. The donation reflects Monarch’s support of rural health care, Webber said. REGISTER/RICHARD LUKEN
